Alice May Gray

Alice May Gray was born in Poplar Grove, Humphreys County, Tennessee on April 3, 1899 to parents John and Alice Gray. On December 24, 1914 Alice married Dillard Edward Wills of Plunders Creek, Hickman County, Tennessee.

Dillard and Alice lived in Hickman and Dickson counties. Dillard worked as a farmer and in timber. Alice was a homemaker. In her later years Alice was crippled with arthritis and confined to bed in Green Valley Nursing Home in Dickson, Tennessee.

 

Alice and Dillard had the following children:

1. Willamine Listonne "Wilma" - born February 17, 1917.

2. Fate Lanier - born September 28, 1919 in Tennessee City, Tennessee. He died December 13, 1995.

3. Homer Hardin - born November 9, 1920

4. Sibyl Eugen - born August 23, 1922

5. Herbert Elmer - born March 30, 1924. Married Martha. Passed away July 31, 2009.

6. Lillie Evelyn - born December 8, 1926

7. Mabel - born December 19, 1927. Mabel passed away May 20, 1995

8. Lula May - born March 12, 1929. Lula married W.E. Gibbs. She passed away October 14, 1998 in Madison Heights, Michigan.

Dillard passed away February 21, 1981. Alice May (Gray) Wills passed away May 13, 1982 in Dickson, Tennessee. Theyu are both buried in Jason's Chapel Cemetery (formerly called Lucas Cemetery) on Garners Creek Road, just past Jason Chapel Road in Dickson County, Tennessee.
