Eva Ruth Merritt, 85 of Riverton died at 6:14 p.m. Sunday at John's Hospital. She was born November 5, 1908 in Riverton, the daughter of Adam J. and Christina M. (Robinson) Rheude. She married harold Jess Merritt in 1927. Preceding her in death were her husband in 1991, and grandchild and three borthers and two sisters.

Mrs. Merritt was a nurses aid at St. John's Sanitarium for 6 and a half years. She was a member of Riverton Christian Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Alvin (Yvonne) Gilbert of Riverton, two sons, Harold J. Merritt Jr. of Riverton and Donald E. Merritt of Williamsville; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. William (Freda) Herman of Riverton; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Staab Funeral Home, with Rick Blazek officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery near Riverton.
