Anton Rheude Anton Rheude was born December 17, 1863 in Sondernheim, Germany to parents Georg and Elisabeth Rheude. When Anton was 17 he came with his family to America abord the ship Herder. On January 25, 1887 Anton married Margaret Berling. Margaret was born on September 12, 1864 in holland. The picture below and all following information was sent to me by Kyle and Gail (Rheude) Conrad - Thank you! Anton and Margaret had the following children: 1. Elizabeth Anna - born December 25, 1887. She died on October 31, 1940 and is in St. Joseph's Cemetery, which is south of Kentland, Indiana. 2. William Henry - born July 26, 1889. William maried Clara Getting. He died October 8, 1967 and is in St. Joseph's Cemetery, which is south of Kentland, Indiana. Clara died April 30, 1984. 3. Wenceslaus Joseph - born march 18, 1891. Married Lela Kelly on February 6, 1917. Wenceslaus died August 5, 1976 in Goodland, Indiana. Lela died March 4, 1988 in Goodland, Indiana. 4. Mary Cecelia - born December 23, 1892. Shed died July 2, 1971 and is in St. Joseph's Cemetery, which is south of Kentland, Indiana. 5. Nicholas George - born November 28, 1894. Married Pearl Cross on May 24, 1919. Pearl died March 18, 1980. Nicholas died September 6, 1988 and is in St. Joseph's Cemetery, which is south of Kentland, Indiana. 6. Louise Margaret - born September 9, 1896. She married Martin Toft. Louise died October 23, 1983. 7. George Michael - born September 29, 1898. He died June 17, 1990 and is in St. Joseph's Cemetery, which is south of Kentland, Indiana. 8. Anna Marie - born July 13, 1900. She died July 19, 1987. 9. Rosalia Agnes Louise - born January 8, 1903. She died August 23, 1992 and is in St. Joseph's Cemetery, which is south of Kentland, Indiana. 10. Helena Monica - born May 5, 1907. She died October 26, 1996 and is in St. Joseph's Cemetery, which is south of Kentland, Indiana. Anton was a meat cutter for Reinhold, Roth & Schneider Brothers Market in Kentland, Indiana. At the turn of the century he was Town Marshall and later worked, for 40 years, for the New York Central Railroad. These are from notes found of Rosalia's (Scheetz):
Margaret passed away November 14, 1937. Anton died June 19, 1944. They are both buried in St. Joseph's Cemetery, just south of Kentland, Indiana.
